When you or a loved one needs emergency medical help, the obvious choice for outstanding care is the Emergency Department at Gilbert Hospital. Our goal is to provide patients who are experiencing an illness or injury with compassionate care in a professional and efficient environment. The staff at Gilbert Hospital is prepared to meet any emergency need that arises and our efficiency speaks for itself with a typical wait time in our emergency department of less than 8 minutes.
The 21-bed Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by physicians, nurses, and support personnel who are trained to care for a wide range of emergent health concerns, including cardiac, orthopedic, general illnes and pediatrics. The Emergency physicians are all board-certified specialists in Emergency Medicine, and are supported by a full complement of medical and surgical specialties and sub-specialties, as well as nurses trained to focus on emergent care, with certification in ACLS and PALS, (Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
From the moment patients come through our doors and are assessed by our “first response staff”, they receive outstanding medical care in a facility that is both efficient and private. Our fully equipped examination areas provide the very latest in emergency medical equipment.
To ensure every patient's privacy, case discussion, consultations, examination and treatment are confidential and are conducted privately in a patient room. At Gilbert Hospital, there are no curtains or group holding areas. Patient rooms are all private and the patient's family and loved ones are an important part of the patient's care. Whenever possible, family members will be permitted to stay with patients during treatment to provide comfort and helpful information.
The Pediatric Emergency Department is a 4-bed emergency care area focusing on our pediatric population (<18 years of age). We have a specially trained nursing staff and Board Certified Emergency physicians to serve the families of southeast Maricopa County and northern Pinal County 24 hours a day/7 days a week. They will provide your child the highest quality care in a warm and nurturing environment.
The Center is open round-the-clock and accepts all types of pediatric needs, ranging from emergency visits to short-term observation. In the event there is a need for longer term care at a pediatric level, Gilbert Hospital has partnered with both Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the new Cardon’s Children’s Hospital to allow quick transfer and admission of our pediatric patients. Rest assured, Gilbert Hospital is providing the highest quality care right at your doorstep!
