The growth in Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek and other surrounding communities is tremendous. With this growth comes the need for many services including hospitals. Gilbert Hospital is proud of the fact that we were the first full-service, acute care general hospital in Gilbert. Recently, it has been mentioned that local healthcare systems are shifting from community hospitals to regional hospitals, meaning the concept of neighborhood hospitals is becoming a thing of the past. At Gilbert Hospital, we feel this is inaccurate and untrue. Just look at what we're doing…at a community hospital level:
- Gilbert Hospital is on pace to see and treat more than 51,000 patients for 2007 in its emergency department making it one of the busiest emergency departments in the Valley.
- As busy as Gilbert Hospital is, we have reached a "Door to Doc in 31 Minutes" success rate of 98.3% year-to-date in 2007.
- Our average ER wait time is less than 16 minutes (compared to a "promised wait time of 10 plus hours" at other east valley hospitals).
- Gilbert Hospital, licensed as a full-service, acute care general hospital, runs more than 9,000 lab procedures each month in its state-of-the-art laboratory (as many as the busiest hospitals in the east valley).
- Gilbert Hospital has NO staffing problems or shortages of personnel. In fact, we're proud to state that we have not utilized the highly expensive and often disruptive services of registry nurses or "travelers" for 14 consecutive months (when compared to other hospitals claiming short staffs contribute to extended wait times).
- Gilbert Hospital staffs for "peak volume" 100% of the time thereby anticipating increased patient flow and maintaining our short ER wait time promise (on the cutting edge of planning and forecasting patient volume and flow).
- Gilbert Hospital is growing. Our 8,500 square foot inpatient expansion is underway and scheduled to be completed in mid-December. Our 150,000 + square foot, 108 in-patient bed expansion is set to break ground in February of 2008.

- The first and only hospital in the state to develop and implement a quality assurance program at a provider level.
